Rosemary Leaf

Rosemary Leaf

Rosemary is the leaf of Rosmarinus officinalis, an evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean basin. It was introduced to China in the Cao Wei period, around 220–265 AD. Cao Zhi and other writers composed poems about rosemary, noting its fragrant foliage. It was used in imperial gardens and aromatic rituals. Its sharp, fresh herbal scent has made it popular for aromatherapy and topical botanical self-care.

In the Compendium of Materia Medica

Rosemary was recorded by Li Shizhen in the Compendium of Materia Medica, noting it was transplanted from western regions during the reign of Emperor Wen of Wei. We reference its traditional use for uplifting aromatic sensory effect when applied topically. This is a traditional herbal record and not modern scientific conclusion.

In modern practice & our ritual

A study published in Scientific Reports evaluated rosemary extract for scalp health, exploring its anti-inflammatory and anti-dandruff potential. The research noted promising lab results, but large-scale human scalp trials remain limited, and outcomes vary by extract concentration and scalp condition. Rosemary leaf extract is included in our hair serum, bringing bright herbal aroma to elevate your daily scalp massage ritual. We focus on aromatic and sensory benefits, without medical claims.
